Job Summary
Operate and maintain machinery to assemble snap and button products. Use material handling equipment and computer systems to store and retrieve components for the assembly process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including Safety, Code of Ethics, Company Rules, 5S, OSHA standards, ISO Quality Standards, ISO Environmental Standards, and Confidential Information reporting.
- Operate assembly machines in accordance with work instructions.
- Repair and maintain assembly equipment by inspecting and performing routine PM using mechanical measurement devices.
- Utilize computer systems to operate equipment, enter production data, and access product standards and safety information.
- Operate material handling equipment as needed.
- Inspect products to verify conformance using product prints and mechanical measurement devices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
- Proficient in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions.
- Problem-solving skills involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
The role requires regular standing, walking, and handling of materials. Frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 400 pounds with equipment. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
