Purpose Statement
The RIC Facilities Maintenance Mechanic controls the efficient operation of all lab equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic repair and preventive maintenance.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses all maintenance failures.
- Performs annual preventative maintenance on all lab equipment.
- Uses assembly drawings, P&IDs and manuals to tune equipment for operation, uses electrical and logic principles to solve equipment problems.
- Works with operating devices such as gages, RTDs, pressure transmitters, and flow meters.
- Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and lab safety guidelines.
- Collaborates with vendors for complex troubleshooting and repairs.
- Maintains an inventory of spare parts.
- Will be required to work with and train associates on basic equipment troubleshooting and assist with equipment operation as needed with lab trials.
- Trains new associates and team members on required skill sets for maintenance.
- Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by Facilities Manager.
Skills/Experience:
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have the desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team
- Must have general mechanical knowledge and electrical and logic principle knowledge
- Has basic plumbing and general facilities/building maintenance knowledge
- Has an awareness of and the ability to follow Associate Safety guidelines
- Has an awareness of and the ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines
- Understands proper machine operating and adjusting procedures
- Ideally will have 3-5 years of experience in food processing or related field, working with standard troubleshooting and repair of equipment
This is an urgent need. Looking for a person to start as soon as possible. This is a temporary position. The estimated length of the contract is around 6 month. The person will work onsite.
