Plating Technician I - Lincoln, NH
1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
Pay Rate: $19.75/hour
(Note: Openings also available for 2nd and 3rd shifts)
Job Summary
The Plating Technician I is responsible for operating assigned equipment used in metal finishing operations, including a variety of tasks to ensure the quality and cleanliness of the products.
Roles & Responsibilities
The following duties are essential to the position. Other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Load and unload tote pans of parts, and stack parts in baskets, racks, or barrels.
- Rack, unrack, clean, etch, desmut, pickle, bright dip, dye, degrease, heat treat, plate, coat, wet process, and dry parts.
- Operate electric hoists and manually lift parts as needed.
- Follow prescribed procedures for processing parts and materials.
- Fill baskets, racks, or barrels with parts and lower them into appropriate tanks.
- Remove parts once the processing is complete.
- Maintain cleanliness of processing tanks and work areas.
- Monitor the temperature of solutions and adjust as necessary.
- Keep daily production logs up to date.
- Physically inspect parts during processing to ensure quality.
- Assist with general utility work, material handling, chemical handling, solution maintenance, and record-keeping.
- Troubleshoot simple to moderate issues as needed.
- Ensure the quality of the final product.
- Perform additional tasks as required.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent related experience/training, or a combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates and percentages.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills & Abilities
- Basic understanding of chemistry as it applies to the job.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise.
