Conducts testing and troubleshooting of electrical and electro-mechanical devices and systems, including instrumentation set-up and data collection.
Clearly communicates routine research procedures and results.
Conducts standard as well as non-standard tasks under close supervision and guidance of more experienced staff. Keeps supervisor informed regularly on status of work.
Supports design of custom test fixtures and development of engineering test protocols.
Assists in preparation of test reports. Provides input to presentations to clients, suppliers, and management. Contributes to the technical planning of project work.
Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Uses experience to recommend a technical approach and to assess its feasibility.
Procures components and fabricates electrical or electro-mechanical assemblies using appropriate industry standards, technical drawings, schematics, and sketches. Provides input on design improvements for prototype hardware.
Key Qualifications:
Associate degree in engineering technology or related field with at least 1 year of applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
Exhibits sufficient technical knowledge to perform routine assignments. Demonstrated ability to operate basic equipment and follow standard procedures.
Performs routine specified analysis of data.
Experience operating common machine tools and hand tools for fabrication and modification of prototype devices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with integration and testing of electro-mechanical systems. Experience with electrical enclosure builds including chassis wiring.
Experience with controls/automation, control panel design, PLC programming
Experience with benchtop tester design for product development
Experience with connectors and cable assemblies including build, test and documentation.
