Accounting Assistant – Hybrid | Nassau County

Annual Salary: $60K
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and accurately code vendor invoices, ensuring proper authorization
- Enter vendor invoices into the Aderant accounting system
- Process vendor payments, obtain necessary signatures, and manage timely disbursement of checks
- Review and reconcile vendor statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Research payment inquiries and handle reissuance of uncashed checks
- Process journal entries and assist with maintaining financial records in Aderant
- Record incoming wire transfers and ensure accurate check deposits
- Process client credit card payments and investigate unidentified incoming payments
- Assist with trust and escrow account activities
- Support matter maintenance in Aderant and handle ad hoc projects as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: College degree (or in progress) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: 2 years of accounting experience (law firm experience a plus)
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Aderant or Chrome River is a bonus
