Position Summary

The position involves assembling components and preparing sub-assemblies for custom procedure trays in various configurations for the CPS production area. The role requires adherence to Bills of Material to assemble trays per established designs, compliance with assembly guidelines, and ensuring raw materials meet material standards. Direct interaction with colleagues, managers, and department directors is essential.


Major Responsibilities

Colleague and Production Relationship

  • Develop positive, respectful relationships with colleagues to meet quality, design, efficiency, and customer satisfaction standards while ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and department leadership to achieve clinical acceptance and manufacturing quality standards.
  • Maximize CPS manufacturing quality and production efficiency through effective communication.
  • Support supervisors and team leaders in CPS component selection and standardization related to form, fit, and quality.

Production and Schedule Management

  • Work with leadership to develop daily work schedules for CPS production requirements.
  • Communicate proactively with leadership regarding production schedules, line setups, changes in CPT components, and production requirements.
  • Help identify defects and opportunities for improvement in collaboration with QA colleagues.

Technology

  • Utilize system-related technologies to initiate production schedules, Bills of Material, assembly designs, instructions, and build requirements.
  • Prepare tray labeling, identify component specification hazard codes, and manage qualifications using system-related technologies.
  • Ensure proper handling of hard copy Device History Records (DHR) and associated changes related to CPS manufacturing.

Operational Efficiency

  • Communicate with leadership about changes in production requirements, component availability, defects, and scheduled CPS manufacturing.
  • Commit to optimal production efficiency while meeting customer expectations and production requirements.
  • Provide timely communication regarding component defects, wrong item or pick quantities, and status updates for CPS manufacturing.

General Functions

  • Ensure correct component identification per the Bill of Materials before line setup.
  • Count, fold, place, and package components according to assembly instructions.
  • Prepare and clean the assembly area before production setup.
  • Actively participate in pre-assembly processes such as sortation, work order preparation, and assembly line setup.
  • Ensure acceptable quality of materials placed into production trays.
  • Ensure the correct quantities of components are placed during assembly.
  • Wrap, label, seal, and package finished trays per assembly instructions.
  • Perform line clearance procedures and maintain proper identity for items requiring re-stock or scrap.
  • Maintain general housekeeping duties.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and instructions, both written and oral.

Physical Demands

  • Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Requires normal hearing and eyesight to read and interpret instructions.
  • Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.

Education & Experience

  • High School Graduate/Equivalent (Required).
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
