SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Associate Contract & Pricing Specialist serves as a business partner to various Sales Regions, responsible for analyzing pricing and contract-related information, preparing deal analysis, and ensuring adherence to pricing policies, contractual terms, and regional initiatives. This role will support the maintenance of contract amendments, monitor market conditions, and align with regional goals, with a focus on identifying injectable sales growth opportunities. Additionally, the Associate Contract & Pricing Specialist will assist in developing and deploying processes and tools to enhance contract data support within the Commercial Sales organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Business Partner:

  • Assist the Sr. Contracts and Pricing Specialist with new user contract and pricing training for regional sales teams.
  • Educate internal customers on contracts and pricing processes and systems to improve turnaround time and efficiency.
  • Prioritize contract requests by adhering to established turnaround times to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Investigate contract-related disputes for departmental and interdepartmental requests related to contract data (e.g., Commercial Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Marketing, and Legal).

Pricing:

  • Prepare financial deal analysis, including competitive pricing options based on competition, market share, utilization, costs, and other relevant factors.
  • Act as a liaison between the regional sales team and internal departments for the review and approval of end-user contracts.
  • Review pricing proposals and provide recommended courses of action.
  • Collaborate with the field to develop appropriate contract types, scopes, prices, profits, and terms.
  • Analyze current end-user pricing and group contracts, recommending adjustments when necessary.

Contracts:

  • Analyze contract performance to ensure compliance and optimize terms.
  • Administer and manage the entire contract process, including tracking the status of contract requests and preparing contract checklists to secure authorized signatures for contract execution.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis for Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support Service as needed.
  • Manage and maintain electronic system files and database records of customer contracts, including pricing, GPO, and IDN eligibility, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Interpret and modify contract terms and conditions in accordance with Quidel's business policies and practices.

INTERACTIONS:

  • Support, inform, and coordinate with others within the Commercial organization.
  • Collaborate with other functions, as requested, to provide necessary information.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business.
  • 0-3 years of experience in sales, customer support, or contract administration preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented thought processes with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Extensive computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; prior experience with Cognos, SalesForce, and CRM systems is a plus.
  • Personal ethics and integrity, embodying best practices and highest corporate values, with the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Well-organized individual capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on routine activities while following established policies and procedures, with more detailed instruction on new assignments and complex issues.
