Job Title: Machine Operator (Level I) – 2nd Shift
Location: Gates, NY

Summary: We’re hiring a Machine Operator (Level I) for a temp-to-perm position with a global leader in flexible packaging. This full-time role offers hands-on technical experience in a clean, climate-controlled production facility. You’ll be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating machinery to manufacture high-quality bags and pouches. Shift

  • Monday – Thursday | 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM

Pay

  • $19.10 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate multiple machines, including secondary processes.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and maintain accurate quality documentation.
  • Ensure production goals are met while upholding quality and safety standards.
  • Review and follow routing instructions and Job Order Book details.
  • Assist teammates and provide basic training when needed.
  • Accurately label and store leftover material and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment.
  • Identify and report any food safety issues in line with SQF and GMP requirements.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, including proper guarding and lockout/tagout (LO/TO).
  • Move raw materials and finished goods to designated locations.
  • Be flexible to work overtime and comply with all company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Prior machine operation or mechanical experience preferred (machinery, vehicles, mechanical systems).
  • Background in manufacturing is a plus.
  • Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. for the duration of the shift.

Work Environment

  • Climate-controlled indoor production floor.
  • PPE required: safety shoes and eye protection.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, mechanical parts, non-toxic odors, and moderate noise.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands/fingers.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of standard manufacturing and office equipment.
