Job Title: Process Improvement Data Analyst
Location: Fairport, NY (Hybrid – 3–4 days onsite, 1–2 remote)
Start Date: Early August
Duration: 6 Months (Potential to extend)
Overview:
We’re looking for a been-there-done-that Process Improvement Data Analyst to lead the transition from outdated tools (SharePoint 2016 and spreadsheets) to a more automated, efficient, and scalable system leveraging Power BI, SharePoint Online, Power Automate, and Planview. This role isn’t about maintaining the current process — it’s about transforming it. If you know how to map a process, select the right tools, implement them, and show your stakeholders what good looks like — this is your seat.
What You’ll Do:
-
Analyze current processes used by program managers for scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, and resource planning
-
Lead the migration from SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Online, including workflows, cost estimation approvals, and documentation
-
Replace legacy spreadsheet-based cost tracking systems with automated tools like Planview
-
Design process flowcharts to capture the current state and define desired future workflows
-
Implement new systems and visualizations in Power BI, including dashboard creation and data modeling from SharePoint/Planview sources
-
Serve as the subject matter expert for Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Planview — advising and guiding the internal team
-
Work closely with a small, collaborative team — meet, align on tasks, go execute, check in, repeat
Must-Haves:
-
Power BI: Expert-level experience building reports, dashboards, and integrating data from tools like SharePoint
-
SharePoint: Strong hands-on experience migrating workflows and content from SharePoint 2016 to Online
-
Process Mapping/Flowcharting: Proven ability to break down existing workflows and build new, streamlined ones
-
Self-directed with the ability to take vague requirements ("here's our pile of stuff") and turn them into automated, scalable solutions
-
Comfortable with a “go do it and let us know when it's done” type of working environment
Nice-to-Have:
-
Experience with Planview or similar project/portfolio management tools
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
-
At least 2 years of experience in process improvement, data analytics, or related roles
-
Strong communication and collaboration skills — you’ll be working hands-on with program managers and leadership
