Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sample Management Specialist to oversee the coordination, tracking, and management of samples sent to third-party contracted laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining appropriate analytical testing methods, coordinating sample shipments, and maintaining accurate records of testing results to ensure compliance with quality standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Sample Coordination: Prepare, package, and ship samples to third-party contracted laboratories, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analytical Method Selection: Collaborate with internal teams and external labs to determine the most suitable analytical testing methods based on sample type, project goals, and regulatory standards.
- Results Tracking and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of testing results, ensuring timely receipt and review of data from third-party labs.
- Quality Assurance: Verify that all testing processes and results meet quality control standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams and external laboratories, facilitating clear and efficient communication.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of samples, including tracking sample status, storage conditions, and chain of custody.
- Documentation: Ensure all documentation, including shipping logs, test requests, and result reports, is accurate and accessible in real time.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Experience:

- 2 years of experience in sample management, laboratory operations, or a related role.

- Familiarity with analytical testing methods (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, spectroscopy)

- Experience coordinating with third-party laboratories is preferred.
- Skills:

- Strong organizational and time-management skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Proficiency in data management tools (e.g., Excel, LIMS, or similar systems).

- Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external partners.

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., GLP, GMP, or ISO standards) is a plus.
