Summary
Our plant in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician. This position involves conducting, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. The role requires applying knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment to operation. The technician will provide skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment.
- Plan and perform work requiring thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
- Install, start up, and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
- Advise operators on operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components. Must have functional tools.
- Inform management of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Maintain housekeeping standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance functions as directed.
- Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
- Assist and train other maintenance and/or technical level employees.
- Maintain a professional tone and image to customers and vendors.
- Participate in and ensure compliance with audit regulations.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all required department documentation.
Education and Related Work Experience
- 3-5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields with high proficiency in these areas.
- Certificate in applied electrical maintenance and/or associate degree in Electronics.
- Any combination of related work experience is acceptable.
- Prior work experience in a corrugated manufacturing facility is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Criminal background and drug screen check required for hire.
Technical Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Experience with corrugator machinery is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to work well individually or in a team environment and communicate effectively with line operators for repairs and troubleshooting.
- Willingness to work any shift and overtime as required.
- Computer experience and PLC programming skills are necessary.
- High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required.
