Job Overview:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of products in a manufacturing environment. This role involves developing and implementing quality control processes, performing inspections, conducting audits, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues. The Quality Engineer will also analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to ensure products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The position plays a key role in maintaining high-quality standards and driving continuous improvement throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards for manufacturing processes.
• Perform regular inspections and audits of materials, processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify, document, and report quality issues or non-conformities, and work with production teams to resolve them.
• Analyze quality data (e.g., defects, customer complaints, production errors) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, engineering, and supply chain) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for product defects or process inefficiencies.
• Develop and maintain documentation for quality control processes, inspections, and testing.
• Conduct training for production staff on quality standards, best practices, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma), and customer requirements.
• Support product development by providing quality input during design and prototyping stages.
• Participate in customer audits and address quality-related concerns or inquiries.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 3 years of experience in quality engineering or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) and industry standards.
• Experience with quality tools such as root cause analysis, failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), and statistical process control (SPC).
• Familiarity with product testing, inspection techniques, and material specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software/systems.
• Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
• A manufacturing environment with exposure to equipment, machinery, and production lines.
• May involve standing, walking, and working in varying temperatures or conditions based on production requirements.
• Occasional travel for customer audits or site inspections may be required..
Working Conditions:
This role is performed in a manufacturing environment where the individual may be exposed to high temperatures, loud noise, and the operation of heavy machinery.
Work Schedule:
• Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
• 1 hour lunch
