Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Test Bench Setup Technician to support embedded systems validation team and run functional tests. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining test benches used for functional and regression testing of embedded hardware devices. This is a technical support role ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with embedded boards and peripheral components in a lab environment.


Work Environment:
Lab-based environment with regular handling of electronic devices and test setups.
Some light physical work including lifting, cable routing, and workstation adjustments.

Location: Northford, CT (Complete onsite)
Experience Range : 5-10 Years

Responsibilities:
Set up test benches for embedded devices according to test plans and engineering requirements.
Connect embedded boards with necessary peripherals (power supply, sensors, I/O devices, Relays, Cameras, etc.).
Install and flash firmware images onto embedded hardware platforms.
Perform basic configuration of devices under test (e.g., bootloader settings, DIP switches, jumper changes).
Ensure test benches are correctly wired, powered, and labeled for use by test and development teams.
Track and manage hardware assets used in test setups.
Maintain lab cleanliness and adhere to safe handling procedures, including ESD precautions.
Execute functional/regression Test Cases as per Features in given Release and report issues/defects.
Execute Automated Test Suite and report issues/defects.
Defects verification after fixes are done, which are reported by QA team
Customer issue reproduction and new features testing
Assist in documenting setup procedures, including photos and wiring diagrams.

Must have skills:
Embedded hardware platforms.
Understanding of Hardware components such as power supplies, USB/UART/I2C/SPI connections, and GPIO interfaces.
Understanding of setup instructions, circuit diagrams, and technical documentation.
Using tools such as screwdrivers, crimpers, soldering machine and anti-static mats.
Linux.
Python / Shell Scripting (Basic understanding).

Qualifications:
Familiarity with embedded hardware platforms (e.g., development boards, single-board computers).
Basic understanding of hardware components such as power supplies, USB/UART/I2C/SPI connections, and GPIO interfaces.
Ability to follow setup instructions, circuit diagrams, and technical documentation.
Comfortable using tools such as screwdrivers, crimpers, soldering machine and anti-static mats.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple setup tasks simultaneously.
Experience with flashing firmware using serial interfaces or JTAG tools.
Familiarity with Linux or embedded OS boot procedures.
Basic scripting (e.g., Python, shell) for automated setup or logging.
