Maintenance Technician

Location: South Tucson
Terms: Right to Hire (3 months)
Salary: $25.00-$35
Requirements: Minimum 3 years of experience

SUMMARY:

Assists in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing and electrical systems of facility

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs periodic visual and safety inspections of all manufacturing areas.
Performs preventative maintenance functions and repair.
Maintain repair logs, and schedules
Reviews equipment performance.
Trouble shoots equipment failure.
Suggests changes in equipment and installations relative to performance
Maintains replacement part inventory and supplies
Secures and maintains adequate tools for all necessary job functions
Assists in maintaining replacement part inventory and supplies

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS:

Knowledge- Basic knowledge of machinery and maintenance practices
Direction- Works under close direction
Complexity- Solves problems of minimal complexity
Scope- Errors in judgment would have a minor impact on department

QUALIFICATIONS:

Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
Basic PC literacy
Some experience required
Familiarity with basic hand, electrical and power tools
Able to read electrical schematics and understands ladder drawings.
Comprehends relay logic and able to trace circuits.
Familiar with basic plumbing and construction practices.
Minimum 3 years experience required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds
Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
