Job Summary:
The Forming Operator is responsible for shaping and forming fiberglass materials into specific molds or product designs in accordance with production requirements. This role involves handling raw fiberglass, operating forming equipment, and ensuring proper material placement and shaping before curing.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare molds and tools for fiberglass forming operations

Handle and position raw fiberglass materials (mats, roving, or chopped fiber) into molds or designated areas

Operate forming machines or perform manual layup techniques as required

Trim excess material and ensure proper thickness, alignment, and conformity of the product

Follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures precisely

Monitor and adjust forming processes to ensure quality standards are met

Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues to supervision

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment

Accurately complete production and quality documentation

Collaborate with other team members to achieve production targets and continuous improvement goals
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous experience in fiberglass, composites, or manufacturing is an asset

Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety guidelines

Manual dexterity and attention to detail

Comfortable working around fiberglass materials and with hand tools

Ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and work in a production environment for extended periods

Must be reliable and able to work independently or in a team setting
Working Conditions:
Exposure to fiberglass dust, resins, and high-temperature equipment. PPE including gloves, safety glasses, and respirators may be required. Work involves repetitive tasks, moderate lifting, and standing for long periods.
