Job Description
Operates and maintains high-pressure, manually-controlled and/or fully-automatic high-pressure steam boilers. Responsibilities include:
- Regulating temperatures, draft fans, and natural gas/fuel feeds.
- Controlling and maintaining proper fire.
- Checking controls and servicing all automatic equipment, pumps, injectors, emission control devices, monitors, and accessories.
- Maintaining correct fuel and water treatment and water levels.
- Recording and interpreting pressure, combustion, and other gauges.
- Conducting functional checks of boilers during firing and after major repairs.
- Operating chillers, air compressors, and other devices as part of the central utility plant operations.
This team provides 24/7 support for plant operation. Candidates must have completely open availability as shifts will depend on coverage needed.
Example of Possible Schedules:
- 4/10 Day or Night
- 5/40 Swing or Night shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- 4/10 alternate schedule (Saturday - 12hrs, Sunday -12hrs, Monday - 8hrs, Tuesday - 8hrs (AM or PM))
- Must have prior boiler operational experience.
- Must have prior chiller operational experience.
- No degree required.
