Job Title: Tool Maker – Fixture Repair
Pay Rate: $28.51/hour
Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Tool Maker to join our team on 2nd shift. This individual will be responsible for independently setting up and operating various machine tools, as well as servicing, maintaining, and repairing weld and machine fixtures. This role involves producing components from blueprints or sketches, including tools, dies, punches, and other precision machine parts.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, service, maintain, and repair new or existing fixtures.

Set up and operate a wide range of machine tools (horizontal/vertical mills, grinders, lathes, hones, etc.) to manufacture tools, gauges, and fixtures.

Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., I.D./O.D. micrometers, height gauges, surface plates) to ensure components meet specified tolerances.

Support the resolution of dimensional and process-related issues through troubleshooting.

Assist with electrical troubleshooting of fixture sensors and cables (up to 2400c).

Collaborate with the team to recommend and implement continuous improvement strategies based on tooling issues or failures.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills:

High School Diploma required; Journeyman's card or equivalent experience strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and materials.

Proficient in operating tool room equipment, including handling unique set-ups or non-standard configurations.

Skilled with hand tools used in fixture repair and maintenance.

Creative problem-solver with the ability to develop original designs and tooling solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
