Job Title: Payroll Analyst / Coordinator
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Occasional OT around holidays)
Assignment Type: 3-Month Contract (Temp-to-Hire Opportunity)
Reporting To: Finance Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Analyst / Coordinator to process bi-weekly payroll for over 750 associates and serve as a key liaison with two labor unions. This position will support payroll administration, union deductions, and health and welfare contributions, while ensuring compliance, timeliness, and accuracy in all payroll activities. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with advanced Excel skills, high-volume payroll experience, and the ability to work onsite in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for multiple departments across multiple states.

Perform data input, audit payroll entries, and reconcile payroll discrepancies.

Submit payroll reports and remit union dues, fees, and contributions (Health & Welfare and Pension) for two unions.

Coordinate with third parties for tax filings, wage payments, and garnishments.

Process manual off-cycle payments when needed.

Assist with Kronos time file issues and troubleshoot discrepancies.

Maintain payroll compliance with internal and external standards.

Generate ad hoc payroll reports as requested.

Communicate with union representatives and internal stakeholders regarding payroll and deductions.

Manage high-volume tasks independently and prioritize effectively.
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 3 years of payroll experience with large employee headcounts ( 750).

Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), Outlook, and Word.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance.

Onsite availability required (5 days/week).
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Workday Payroll strongly preferred.

Familiarity with union reporting, pension contributions, and healthcare remittance.

Experience with Kronos or similar timekeeping systems.
