Job Description
Minimum Education: AAS in Mechanical Technology or CAD
Experience: 3 Years in related field. Proficient with 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or AutoCAD.
Travel Requirements: 20-30% to Project/plant locations and vendor sites as neededTe
Scope of Position:
Provide mechanical design and technical support to engineers involved in the design, development and testing of industrial process and automation equipment.
Assist engineers with the design of mechanical equipment components using both AutoCAD and Solidworks or Inventor software.
Create and updates drawings and documentation. 3D Modeling
Produces equipment and process documentation (spare parts lists, SOP's, machine specifications, etc.).
Provide accurate estimates of the time required to complete assigned work.

Procure material and process equipment using *** Incorporated approved processes.
Communicates and instructs field or vendor personnel on the proper installation or assembly procedures.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Makes initial design layouts of mechanical systems and subsystems using computer aided design under the direction of an engineer (2D/3D).
Prepares complete assembly and detail drawings of robot tooling, machine components and associated equipment.
Prepares documentation packages (drawings and written materials).
Create prototype parts using 3D printing.
Compiles Spare Parts Lists.
Assist engineers with specifications for commercially available material handling equipment and systems.
Supports project teams with estimates, tracks and reports costs, and project timelines.
Assists in preparing of training materials and training of plant/customer personnel.
Communicate technical ideas through the use of graphic, written and oral media.
Confers with vendors in the final selection of commercial components and writes purchase requisitions.
Required Skills:
Proficient with 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or AutoCAD
Ability to work in a team-based environment and to contribute to a highly matrixed project team.
Ability to manage multiple priorities through sound planning and organizing.
Ability to select standard mechanical parts from a vendor catalog or by contacting the vendor.
The ability to work independently without daily/weekly instructions
Familiarity with machine guarding and safety standards (OSHA, ANSI, ISO)
Knowledge of ANSI drawing standards (Y14.5).
Machine design/equipment layout experience
Ability to work independently to complete drafting and design tasks.
Desired Skills:
Able to communicate clearly to team members, vendors and the customer.
Willingness to be hands-on with design, testing, and assembly of mechanical parts.
Familiarity with drawing repository vault (EPDM)
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
