Job Summary
Performs sample accessioning in a CAP/CLIA Laboratory. Follows standard procedures in performing tasks, with knowledge of CAP, CLIA, and other accrediting and regulatory agency requirements in laboratory practice. Utilizes good documentation practices and adheres to laboratory safety policies. Leads one or more process improvement workstreams within the BioSample Management Group as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Receive and open sample shipments; triage samples to respective testing locations.
- Perform accessioning of samples and quality control of demographic data input. Communicate with clients on held and rejected samples.
- Perform labeling of samples and quality control check of labeling.
- Perform imaging of stained slides returned from Pathology, ensuring all deliverables are met within the required timeline.
- Coordinate the execution of all internal and client requests, including global shipments of samples while maintaining accurate chain of custody.
- Manage team email by ensuring all requests have been completed.
- Lead and ensure deliverables are met for one or more process improvement workstreams within the BioSample Management Group as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Formal Training/Education
H.S. Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. - REQUIRED
Experience
4 years of related experience - REQUIRED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding and knowledge of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance. - PREFERRED
- Ability to work with relevant computer software packages, including spreadsheets and word-processing packages (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word), is essential. - PREFERRED
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - PREFERRED
- Ability to work under time pressure while maintaining high standards of precision and data quality. - PREFERRED
