GENERAL SUMMARY (Describe the overall duties and responsibilities of the job):
 
Responsible for the quality, assembly, and inspection of fluid components and assemblies within the assigned Business Unit. 
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  (Duties required for successful job performance):
 
  1. Load work station with formed hoses and other miscellaneous production materials.
  2. Retrieve/return required production fixtures/tooling.
  3. Operate required production fixtures/tooling apparatus.
  4. Operate automatic or hand activated stamping equipment.
  5. Operate various production machines that are required as part of production process.
  6. Perform various re-inspection of product as directed
  7. Perform various salvage operations of product as directed.
  8. Perform set-up/first piece quality inspection per TS 16949 documentation.
  9. Fill out manufacturing slips.
  10. Tally production for timecard.
  11. Maintain work areas neat and orderly in accordance with 5S principles.
  12. Read ID/OD check gauges.
  13. Read Specifications/Standard Practices and sign off appropriate documentation as required.
  14. Perform all operations per specification, standard practice, or as directed by supervision.
  15. Daily and weekly overtime may be required.
  16. May on occasion be required to perform duties other than those listed in this job description.
 
 





REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (These are the traditional minimum, or required, bona-fide occupational qualifications and other requirements of most people in this job).
 
  1. High School Diploma or GED required.  Previous manufacturing experience preferred (particularly in a team environment).
  2. NCRC certified preferred.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those needed to perform the essential functions of the job).
 
  1. Interpersonal Skills – Must be able to read and write at a medium level for the purpose of understanding and applying quality documentation and standard operating procedures, along with completion of job / time reporting.
  2. Problem-solving – May be asked to participate in continuous improvement activities and perform basic mathematics.
  3. Physical / Mental / Visual abilities – Duties of job require periods of standing, use of hands and fingers, bending and reaching, lifting and movement of materials frequently.  Must be able to visually interpret work instructions and inspect parts to ensure compliance to quality standards.  Must be able to understand and use assembly and measuring equipment / tools require for position.  Duties of job require periods of standing 95% excluding breaks, use of hands (pushing and pulling 50 lbs.) and fingers (gripping/pinching), bending and reaching up to 33% of the time, lifting (>25lbs.) and movement of materials frequently between 12-38lbs.
  4. Work Hours – The ability to work 40 hours per week, plus daily and/or weekly overtime is required for this position.
 
 
REQUIRED DECISION-MAKING AND ORGANIZATION IMPACT (Describe the typical types of decisions made by employees in this job and the likely impact of those decisions on the Company).
 
  1. The position will decide on a daily basis the acceptable level of quality for finished product to be shipped to the customer. 
  2. This determination will be based upon interpretation of the customer specifications and past experience. 
  3. Customer rejections of finished product could incur additional costs and may jeopardize the sourcing of business to the company.
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS (Indicate job titles for this job’s supervisor and direct reports).
 
  1. Directly Reports To: Group Leader / Shift Supervisor
  2. Indirectly Reports To:  Business Unit Manager - II
 
WORKING CONDITIONS (Describe the environment within which the work is performed).
 
  1. Work time will be spent in general factory floor environments. 
  2. Daily and weekly overtime may be required.
  3. Temperature and noise may vary depending on external environmental conditions.
  4. Lack of attention and carelessness may result in personal injury to self or others.
