Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to design, plan, and execute comprehensive testing strategies for enterprise systems and web-based applications. This position is responsible for evaluating requirements, building test plans, and ensuring application stability through rigorous automated testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current workflows and anticipated future needs to align testing initiatives with business objectives
- Become well-versed in core platforms and operational functions to deliver thorough and effective test coverage
- Take ownership of QA strategy and serve as the subject matter expert on software testing across platforms
- Evaluate technical and functional specifications to formulate dependable test strategies
- Develop and maintain detailed test scenarios, conduct test executions, and identify areas for improvement
- Contribute to planning and documentation of test strategies, scripts, and regression cycles
- Estimate testing scope and support the creation of project roadmaps and milestone timelines
- Engage cross-functional stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment and test readiness
- Partner with automation engineers to continuously expand and refine the automated test suite
- Execute manual and automated test cases, incorporating smoke, functional, integration, and regression testing
- Maintain open communication with QA leadership and escalate quality issues with detailed metrics and progress updates
- Track, document, and validate software defects while collaborating closely with development teams to ensure resolution
- Create and manage comprehensive testing artifacts aligned with best practices in QA documentation
- Support end-user acceptance testing and contribute to successful project deployments
- Provide post-release production support and help internal/external users resolve functional issues
- Mentor peers and new hires while helping shape training programs based on team development needs
Must-Have Requirements:
- 5 years of QA experience in a software development environment
- Strong automation experience (design, scripting, execution, and reporting)
- Prior experience financial reporting experience (income statements, balance sheets, familiarity with business books or production detail reports)
- Prior experience testing Accounting/Reporting systems like Phynsis or similar
- Proficient in SQL and database testing
- Experience with Azure DevOps or other ALM/test tracking tools
- Familiarity with UiPath or other automation tools
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in SaaS-based web applications
- Experience working in an offshore/nearshore development model
- Familiarity with acquisitions and mergers
- Infrastructure, hardware, and networking operations experience
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Release Manager
- Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project
- Exposure to various SDLC models (iterative, non-iterative, hybrid)
