Nesco Data Center & Infrastructure is seeking an Aruba Route & Switch Programmer who will Program and then go onsite and perform Install.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Aruba Route and Switch Programmer with strong experience in Aruba Networks to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team. This role involves programming, configuring, and deploying HPE Aruba (formerly ProCurve) switches and wireless access points, followed by on-site installation across client locations in the Greater Dallas, TX area. The ideal candidate has a robust background in Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, HPE Aruba switching and wireless technologies, and is comfortable working in both lab and field environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Program and configure HPE Aruba switches, routers, and wireless access points using CLI and Aruba's management platforms (Aruba Central, AirWave, IMC, etc.).

  • Conduct pre-deployment staging, including Aruba switch and AP configuration, firmware updates, and validation testing.

  • Travel to customer sites within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to install and commission Aruba switches and wireless access points.

  • Collaborate with network architects and project managers to ensure Aruba-based network deployments meet performance, security, and design requirements.

  • Troubleshoot, test, and resolve connectivity and performance issues with Aruba wired and wireless gear during and after installation.

  • Document Aruba device configurations, deployment steps, and as-built network diagrams.

  • Maintain inventory of Aruba hardware and track deployment logistics.

  • Ensure adherence to Aruba Networks best practices and company policies for network deployment and security.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience with enterprise-grade switch programming and installation, specifically with HPE Aruba/ProCurve technologies.

  • Proficient in configuring VLANs, trunking, STP, QoS, SNMP, ACLs, and routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, static routes).

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Aruba wireless access point deployments, including SSID configuration, RF planning, and wireless troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with Aruba network management tools (e.g., Aruba Central, AirWave).

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, and general networking principles.


Certifications (Required or Strongly Preferred):

  • HPE ASE – Aruba Switching, Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ACSA) or Professional (ACSP)

  • Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA) or Professional (ACMP) a plus

  • CompTIA Network or Cisco CCNA (optional but valuable)

  • Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits


Additional Requirements:

  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Greater Dallas, TX area.

  • Ability to lift and move networking equipment (up to 50 lbs).

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.

  • Willing to travel locally up to 75% of the time.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Aruba wireless mesh or large-scale wireless rollouts.

  • Experience with scripting or automation (Python, Ansible) a plus.

  • Knowledge of Aruba security features and best practices.
