Electrical Test Technician
  • Bedford, OH
  • $25-$28/hour based on experience
  • 1st shift 7am-330pm, Monday – Friday
  • Contract to Hire opportunity
As the Electrical Test Technician, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive electrical testing and inspections adhering to industry standards (Underwrites Laboratories (UL), National Electrical Code (NEC), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and International Electrical Testing Association (NETA).
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of electrical tests and inspections on equipment, systems, and components in accordance with UL, NEC, IEEE, and NETA standards.
  • Working with products such as deadfronted switchboards, utility metering enclosures, transfer switches, control panels, service pedestals, ANSI metal clad switchgear, and generator connection enclosures (cam-loks).
  • Ensure full compliance with UL, NEC, IEEE, and NETA standards, as well as other relevant industry codes and regulations.
  • Stay current on the latest revisions and changes to these standards and ensure their implementation within the organization.
  • Utilize technical expertise to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to Engineering and Management teams, outlining findings and proposed solutions.
  • Prioritize safety throughout all testing and inspection processes, implementing proper safety protocols as needed.
  • Identify potential safety risks in electrical systems and collaborate with Engineering teams to implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment regularly to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Keep an organized inventory of test equipment and ensure its availability and readiness for use.
  • Give technical support to customers for product start up, troubleshooting, warranty claims, replacement component sourcing, or 3rd party vendor field support. May travel for on-site support only if absolutely necessary.
Skills/Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an electrical test technician.
  • Understanding of electrical industry standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Will be subject to pre-employment drug and background screening.
