Pharmacy Benefit Technical Specialist
Remote (Local to the Capital District Only)
$20/hr | Full-Time | Temporary through January 2027
Are you detail-oriented and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in the healthcare space? We’re hiring a Pharmacy Benefit Technical Specialist to join our team in a fully remote role — with the occasional onsite need, so candidates must reside in the Capital District.
What You’ll Do:

Support implementation of pharmacy benefit decisions, including prior authorizations and medical exceptions.

Answer incoming calls from our pharmacy phone queue, resolving inquiries from internal and external healthcare professionals.

Build and update authorizations in Facets and communicate decisions to providers and members.

Monitor pharmacy claims, troubleshoot PBM system issues, and support eligibility and formulary updates.

Handle provider outreach, documentation, and assist in department projects.

Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including holiday coverage and occasional late shifts (Fridays).

Help ensure we meet quality and turnaround benchmarks for pharmacy service.
What We’re Looking For:

Strong medical customer service background (experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting preferred).

Detail-focused and able to follow technical processes and documentation.

Comfort with phone-based communication and handling sensitive information.

Must live in the Capital District and be available to come onsite as needed.

Schedule: Full-time, M-F, 8:30am-5pm, with occasional extra hours to meet departmental needs.
