Shift Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday (1st shift)
- Obtain work order from your lead person.
- Check the bill of material for description, quantity, and parts needed to build the product.
- Read the routing carefully and report labor against the proper sequence.
- Review the work order for any special instructions. If the instructions are unclear, ask your lead person or supervisor for clarification.
- Request a production assembly drawing from your lead person, supervisor, or inspector when one is required.
- Inspect all parts as they are being used.
- Inspect flanges (the joint between the body and cover) 100% with a 0.0015” feeler gauge. The gauge can go no deeper than 1/8” max.
- Check for porosity, torn threads, bad paint, missing features, etc., per instructions from your routings, drawings, lead person, or supervisor.
- Lubricate all indicated threaded areas.
- Remove nonconforming or questionable material to designated areas until a determination can be made.
- Communicate any problems with the assembly (e.g., bad parts, equipment, fixtures, tools, drawings, or unclear work instructions) to your lead person, supervisor, or inspector for corrective action.
- Clear your work area and put all consumable parts in their place after completing each work order.
- Return special tools, equipment, and drawings to where they belong.
- Use downtime constructively: fill your bins with consumable parts, clean your area, and be prepared for your next work order or instructions.
