Position Summary
Utilize problem-solving techniques in routine job activities and team settings to ensure the quality expectations of every customer, both internal and external, are met or exceeded. This role involves measuring critical product/process variables, recording or reporting using appropriate tools, and utilizing information for continuous improvement. If unable to maintain processes within established limits or meet specifications, you are fully authorized to stop the operation and seek assistance.
This position requires working the third shift, Monday through Friday, from 10PM to 6:30AM. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a factory setting. A full resume demonstrating skills in overseeing the quality department is required.
Essential Functions
- The safety and health of employees take precedence over all duties of this job.
- Conduct required off-line testing for products.
- Ensure all customer feedback is completed on time, root causes are identified and implemented.
- Assist in analyzing all customer feedback for trends and continuous improvement.
- Participate in corrective action and preventive action processes.
- Assist in process capability studies as deemed necessary.
- Train plant personnel in GIQ quality system.
- Maintain customer property.
- Maintain process for document control.
- Document COAs and COCs as required.
- Participate in customer visits.
- Define and apply quality concepts and processes, including statistical basics; interpret information and data; apply team concepts.
- Know which measurement and test equipment (M&TE) tools are appropriate for various tasks and how to assess tool accuracy and precision; understand the concept of standards traceability for M&TE.
- Understand and apply basic inspection and testing techniques, including various types of sampling plans.
- Understand and apply various quality audit types and their components, tools, and techniques.
- Control nonconforming material.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
