As the CNC Waterjet Machinist you learn how to operate and maintain the machine to produce quality product.  This role will run the Waterjet machine, deburring equipment and follow 6-S procedures.


Job Title: CNC Water Jet Machinist
Location: Avon, OH
Shift: 1st (Monday through Friday 6 am to 230 pm)
Wage: $17 to $24 based on experience with reviews after 90 days

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Learn how to read production instructions, processes, and procedures, including interpreting and translating engineering designs and documentation.
  • Learn to set up and operate a CNC Waterjet machine (FLOW) using programs and layouts to cut and trim parts from various materials (copper, aluminum, steel, plastic) according to specifications and with correct tolerances.
  • Learn how to maintain the equipment, maintain and perform daily and weekly TPM tasks, and keep the TPM board current.
  • Monitor production to ensure quality, verify and inspect the product, and machine the number of identical product units.
  • Ensuring the equipment is in top operating order, troubleshooting and resolving issues relating to the machine, and alerting the supervisor of repairs when needed.
  • Basic computer skills, including using Labor Trak, AutoCAD, and data collection.
  • Label, identify, and differentiate raw materials using various units of measurement, including pounds, per piece, and feet.
  • Learn to understand job operations routings, pick lists, and precision measuring tools, including tape measures, dial calipers, and gauge pins.
  • Using other equipment such as cranes, slings, and vacuum lifts safely and adequately.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly working environment.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Other duties as needed

Skills/Qualifications
  • 1 to 3 years of assembly, CNC mill or lathe operating experience is preferred
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Comfortable using the metric system and being mechanically inclined.
  • Reading and comprehending blueprints and understanding G and M codes are preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills or AutoCad experience is preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Will be subject to a pre-employment screening.
