Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $16–18 /hour DOE
Job Summary:
Support the welding department by drilling, grinding, cutting and assisting on MIG welds (75/25 Argon on carbon steel). Under the direction of the Welding Supervisor, you'll handle material prep, read and mark with a tape measure, maintain a clean work area, and help meet daily production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prep and position carbon steel parts for MIG welding
- Operate drill press, angle grinder, cutoff saw, etc.
- Measure, mark and layout parts accurately using tape measure
- Assist with MIG welding setups and wire changes
- Clean up workstations, dispose of scrap, restock supplies
- HS diploma or equivalent
- 6 months hands on shop or basic welding experience preferred
- Comfortable working with MIG welder (75/25 Argon) on carbon steel
- Able to read tape measures to 1/16″
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for full shift
- Willing and able to wear PPE and follow all safety procedures
- Reports to: Welding Supervisor
- Must complete site orientation and any required safety training on Day 1
- Temporary full time assignment, potential to extend based on workload
