- Ensure assigned weekly payrolls are processed accurately and timely.
- Enter weekly time for employees through various methods including uploading of import files, spreadsheet upload and manual data entry.
- Balancing payroll files and audit reports.
- Identify and solve payroll issues in a timely manner.
- Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
- Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper workflow and maintenance of employee data.
- Ensure proper deductions for payroll tax, benefits, wage garnishments, and other miscellaneous items.
- Assist with the preparation of Certified Payrolls.
- Follow proper governance of payroll data, time and attendance, record keeping and internal controls. Assists internal and external auditors during audit process by providing documents, and other payroll-related reports upon request.
- Other various payroll duties as assigned.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; College preferred.
- CPP or FPC preferred.
- Union/Certifieds experience required.
- 2 years required in a high-volume, multi-state payroll environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Highly proficient computer skills including MS Office (Word/Intermediate Excel) required.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and work within deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- ADP/Ceridian experience preferred but not required.
