2nd Shift
MONDAY - THURSDAY 2:15PM-12:45AM. (4) (10) hour shifts)
Will train on 1st shift Monday - Friday
Roles & Responsibilities
- Setup, layout, and operate various CNC lathes and/or mills.
- Read blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions such as fixtures, cutting speeds, and depth of cut, and determine sequence of operations.
- Select, position, and secure tool in tool holder.
- Position and secure work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures.
- Move controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
- Set up fixture and start machine.
- Read precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
- Observe operation of machine and verify conformity of machined work piece to specifications.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Follow all Company rules and safety policies.
- Discuss errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
Core Competency Requirements
- Perform any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools.
- Adjust, trim, and fit parts to close tolerances.
- Follow visual aids (standard work) to ensure work is correct.
- May perform testing of assembled product.
- Make up cartons, print labels, insert protective packing material, seal finishing product.
- Meet efficiency rates.
- Perform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Work within all safety guidelines and wear all required PPE (steel toe shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses).
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor or team leader.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition - 5S.
- Must be flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cells.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of previous CNC experience preferred.
