Supervisor, Machine Maintenance
Our Client located in Lowell, MA, and Cleveland, OH develops and manufactures engineered carbon-based products for electrochemical hydrogen and energy storage applications, including advanced gas diffusion layers (GDLs), molded graphite laminates, woven carbon fabrics and carbon felts.

The team generally works first shift Monday to Friday but may work alternate hours as needed based on equipment availability.

Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Process Engineering, perform advanced, complex, and critical corrective and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, processing facilities and pump stations, vehicles, tools, buildings and grounds, and integrate special project work with regular work schedules. This is an advanced level maintenance and repair classification that provides direct supervision and monitors the work progress of the maintenance department technicians.

Job Related Responsibilities
  • Monitor operational details and perform or oversee maintenance work in conformance with OEM recommendations, technical requirements, and to department standard.
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment problems, and recommend time, equipment, and materials required to effect repairs; make emergency repairs as required to repair, overhaul or replace malfunctioning, damaged equipment or worn parts.
  • Confer with staff to support the identification of equipment problems and suggest solutions.
  • Inspect, evaluate, and repair a variety of complex and critical electro-mechanical equipment, and facilities. Service, adjust, and tune a variety of equipment such as motors, pumps, valves, control systems, heat exchangers, and chemical feed systems.
  • Primary system administrator of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, assign, complete, and enter work done on work orders; requisition materials as required.
  • Run and review CMMS reports regularly to ensure service records are input correctly, and parts and equipment inventories are accurate and in the proper warehouse.
  • Regularly review critical equipment records to ensure asset condition updates and repair planning.
  • Maintain accurate records, and files electronically and/or in hard copy as required of job plans, work performed, and materials and supplies used.
  • Design equipment installations and modifications; make required mathematical calculations; prepare schematics and diagrams for documenting installations; determines supplies and materials required.
  • Read and interpret specifications, diagrams, manuals and other documentation.
  • Use welding and Plasma cutting equipment to cut, heat, fabricate, and weld or braze various metals and/or metal alloy combinations.
  • Use and perform maintenance on a variety of hand and power tools and safety equipment.
  • Ensure that all appropriate safety procedures and protocols are observed, and codes and guidelines are met including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), confined space entry and self-rescue work as required.
  • Attend and lead training and safety sessions as assigned.
  • Provide technical assistance and train staff in job-specific and safe work procedures
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to recognize, mitigate, and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in with CMMS and MS Office, the ability to work with mathematical concepts including fractions, percentages, and ratios, and an attention to detail are required.

Qualifications Required
Equivalent to graduation from high school and five years of experience in the maintenance and repair of a variety of equipment, structures, and facilities such as found in industrial manufacturing / heat treatment facilities, or similar industrial settings,
