About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Plant Manager to lead all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production performance, safety, quality, staffing, and continuous improvement initiatives. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence while aligning plant performance with broader business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with proven experience in industrial or manufacturing environments, capable of balancing strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:
Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production efficiency, schedule adherence, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.

Team Management & Development:
Lead production supervisors and team leads; provide coaching, performance management, and professional development to support organizational goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with engineering, quality, sales, HR, and finance to improve facility performance and align operations with company objectives.

Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction, workflow optimization, productivity gains, and operational enhancements.

Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement short- and long-term operational plans to support capacity growth and business expansion.

Performance Reporting:
Track and communicate operational metrics, trends, forecasts, and key initiatives to senior leadership.

Workforce Management:
Oversee staffing plans, recruiting support, onboarding, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions as needed.

Safety Leadership:
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies; establish measurable safety objectives and promote a culture of accountability.

Production Planning:
Coordinate scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to meet delivery commitments and operational targets.


Qualifications

Experience:

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Prior responsibility for production oversight and supervisory management

Leadership Capability:

  • Strong ability to develop teams and drive accountability
  • Experience managing performance, staffing, and operational outcomes

Business Acumen:

  • Ability to interpret operational metrics and financial drivers
  • Experience identifying cost-saving and efficiency initiatives

Communication Skills:

  • Clear communicator with ability to present performance data to leadership
  • Collaborative approach across departments

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Work Environment

This role operates within an industrial manufacturing setting, which may include exposure to noise, machinery, dust, varying temperatures, and other production-related conditions. Appropriate PPE may be required.


Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing and walking throughout the facility
  • Occasional climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Visual acuity necessary for operational oversight and safety monitoring

Position Type / Schedule

Full-time position. Standard schedule may include extended hours, overtime, or weekend work based on operational needs.
