Production Trainer

Position Overview

Under general supervision, this role is responsible for delivering on-the-job, skills-based, and classroom training within assembly and production environments. The position supports the development and implementation of training programs, ensures proper documentation of training progress and certifications, and may assist in introducing new manufacturing processes. This role requires strong technical assembly knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively train and guide employees in a regulated manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on, skills-based, and classroom training in assembly and production areas
  • Support the development and implementation of new training programs and materials
  • Maintain training records, including rosters, progress tracking, testing, and certifications
  • Monitor trainee performance and provide feedback to support development
  • Apply established work methods to routine manufacturing scenarios
  • Assist in introducing new processes, workflows, and production sequences
  • Ensure training compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate effectively with trainees, supervisors, and cross-functional teams
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Rotate across workstations and assist as needed within assigned production areas

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required (Associate's degree preferred)
  • Hands-on experience in assembly of digital and analog circuitry/devices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, or provide direction to team members
  • Strong knowledge of product assembly techniques and manufacturing processes
  • Experience using standard hand tools for bio-instruments or bio-device assembly
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Ability to maintain training documentation and certification records
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and production environments
  • Familiarity with standard manufacturing and office equipment
  • Basic math, reading comprehension, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to trainees and employees at all levels

Regulatory & Compliance Requirements

  • Understanding of and ability to comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations
  • Adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards
  • Ability to pass a reading comprehension pre-employment assessment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support multiple tasks/projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology (or related field)
  • Experience in the manufacturing of implantable medical devices or similar regulated products
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g., medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical manufacturing)
