Nesco Resource is looking for an X-Ray Inspector Technician located in Danbury, CT. This is a direct hire opportunity for the right candidate.

Shift: Monday-Thursday 7AM-5:30PM

Pay: $18.50-$19/hour Depending on skills and Experience

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented X-Ray Technician to support quality and manufacturing operations by performing X-ray and visual inspections on electronic assemblies. This role ensures products meet industry standards and customer requirements through accurate inspection, documentation, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate 2D/3D X-ray equipment to inspect solder joints (including BGAs, bottom-termination components, and through-hole assemblies)
  • Perform 100% or sampling-based inspections per work instructions and customer specifications
  • Evaluate X-ray images using IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and customer requirements
  • Conduct visual inspections at in-process and final stages of production
  • Document inspection results, nonconformances, and quality data accurately
  • Support first article inspections, process verification, and failure analysis
  • Maintain inspection records, reports, and quality documentation
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to communicate findings and drive improvements
  • Follow all applicable procedures, standards, and safety requirements
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing inspection or X-ray inspection of circuit card assemblies
  • Experience operating 2D or 3D X-ray inspection systems
  • Ability to interpret X-ray images and identify defects (e.g., voids, bridging, insufficient fill, opens)
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 (certification a plus)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Proficient with documentation and basic computer applications (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to pass a vision acuity test
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with First Article Inspection (AS9102)
  • NDT X-ray certification
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical inspection skills
  • Basic knowledge of electronic components and part numbers
