Summary
Join our team in Lawrenceburg as a vital part of our quality inspection and sorting operations for a leading ceramic tile manufacturer. This position involves inspecting, grading, sorting, and packaging finished products, as well as operating the easy-line packaging machine. Work is performed under regular supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect, grade, sort, and package finished products.
- Follow department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Set up all tile sorting equipment needed.
- Inspect tiles by color and shade into Standards, Dixie, or scrap.
- Grade tiles by defect, according to defect boards or samples.
- Grade tiles by dotting them with fluorescent dye or manually hand grade as needed.
- Notify supervisor when new or excessive amounts of defects are observed.
- Assist with clearing jams on the sorting line.
- Practice correct safety practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of the area.
- Perform related tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Some knowledge of tile shading, coloring, and grading.
- Ability to separate shades of colors.
- Ability to rapidly differentiate the grade of tile.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Mechanically inclined.
- High School diploma or GED.
Schedule
This position operates on a Monday-Friday schedule from 6am-2pm, providing a consistent work-life balance.
