We are partnering with one of our clients on the Westside of Rochester to find an Accounting & Office Administrator to join their small, collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work but is also open to supporting general office administration tasks as needed.

This role is primarily accounting-focused, with day-to-day responsibilities centered around financial operations, reporting, and reconciliations. However, because of the close-knit team environment, flexibility and willingness to assist with administrative duties are essential.

Salary: $55-$65k/yr 
Schedule: M-F 8am to 5pm

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage Accounts Receivable & Payable, including invoicing, cash applications, collections, and vendor payments
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Analyze inventory, cost of goods sold, and gross profit variances
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and complete monthly reconciliations
  • Track and manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules
  • Support budget preparation and cash management reporting
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and government remittances
  • Assist with year-end accounting preparation
  • Provide light office administrative support, including answering phones, processing orders, and assisting customers as needed
What We’re Looking For
  • 3 years of accounting experience in a hands-on role
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounting software (Microsoft Business Central is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to analyze data, problem-solve, and think critically
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
  • Willingness to take on administrative tasks when needed
