Receptionist (Temporary) – Albany, NY
We are seeking a professional and personable Receptionist to support a busy office environment in downtown Albany. This is a temporary opportunity with the potential to transition into a long-term administrative role.
Location: Albany, NY (Downtown)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- 1-hour unpaid lunch
- Two 15-minute breaks
Pay: $20.00–$22.00/hour (based on experience)
Duration: Minimum of 4 months, with potential to extend or convert
About the Role
This position is the face of the office, responsible for creating a welcoming and professional first impression for clients and staff. You’ll support daily front desk operations and assist with general administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Answer and route incoming phone calls (multi-line system)
- Greet and assist clients and employees at the front desk
- Scan, file, and manage documents
- Provide general clerical and administrative support
- Ensure meeting rooms are clean and ready for use
- Assist with opening and sorting mail
- Maintain and update phone directories
- Log deliveries and notify appropriate staff
- Communicate messages and notify attorneys of calls
Qualifications
- Several years of receptionist or administrative experience in a professional office setting
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel – data entry and tracking)
- Strong typing and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage a high-volume front desk
- High school diploma required
- Spanish-speaking/bilingual is a plus
