Overview

The role involves designing, developing, testing, and continuously improving advanced battery systems for military and commercial aircraft applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Develop and optimize battery and cell architectures to meet stringent aerospace performance and safety standards.
- Modeling & Analysis: Conduct modeling, simulation, and parameter analysis to enhance battery performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with mechanical and cross-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure effective battery packaging, integration, and system performance.
- Testing & Validation: Design and implement test plans to evaluate battery and cell performance under various conditions.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports to communicate performance data, test results, and design outcomes to stakeholders and customers.
- Continuous Improvement: Support sustaining engineering efforts to enhance existing products and drive performance improvements.
- Failure Analysis: Investigate returned or failed battery units, identify root causes, and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
- Technical Support: Provide technical insights and data to support sales and marketing efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in battery design, development, and testing (aerospace or OEM environment preferred)
- Strong understanding of battery cell fundamentals, including impedance, testing methodologies, and lithium-ion failure modes
- Experience with battery testing equipment and data analysis
- Proficiency in MATLAB and/or SolidWorks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and aerospace qualification processes
