Mechanical Assembler
Location: Saratoga Springs, NY
Pay Rate: $24 - $27/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 6:00am–2:30pm | Overtime Required
4-5 month temp assignment (opportunity for direct hire after temp period)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Mechanical Assembler to join our client's manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience assembling mechanical systems.
This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read technical documentation, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Assemble machine components and complete machine systems for sales orders and inventory builds

Perform mechanical and pneumatic assembly including:

Installation of motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drive belts

Installation of blast guns, hoses, ducting, pneumatic cylinders, air lines, valves, regulators, and fittings

Installation of robotic systems using shims and dial indicators to achieve precision alignment

Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, BOMs, floor plans, and assembly documentation

Utilize hand and power tools including drills, grinders, saws, calipers, dial indicators, and shop equipment

Perform in-process inspections and complete required documentation

Identify and report non-conformities to the Shop Foreman or Plant Manager

Develop and document standardized work instructions when needed

Maintain organized parts carts and manage returned items

Perform daily and weekly cleanup of designated work areas
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly and/or industrial painting in a manufacturing environment

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation

Pneumatic and machinery assembly experience preferred

Industrial or automotive painting experience preferred

Ability to pass a respirator fit test

Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
Safety & Work Environment Requirements

Must wear required PPE including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, gloves, and respirators (when painting)

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area

Cross-training in other manufacturing departments required as needed

Overtime required based on production demands
