Job Title: Machine Operator/Grinder Operator
Location: Rochester, NY
Summary: Join our precision-focused manufacturing team as a Machine Operator/ Grinder Operator, where you'll set up, operate, and maintain grinding machines and related equipment to produce high-quality metal components. This hands-on, temp-to-perm position is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety and quality. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth production flow, maintaining tight tolerances, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
Shift(s):
- B Shift; 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM, Monday - Thursday
Pay:
- $18.00 – $20.00/hour
- (Based On Experience; Additional $1.00 Shift Differential For B Shift)
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor grinding machines and other precision equipment.
- Inspect, measure, and verify parts using gauges, micrometers, and calipers to maintain exact tolerances.
- Follow standard work procedures and ensure all safety protocols are met.
- Load and unload materials; maintain material flow throughout the grinding process.
- Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and minor repairs on grinding machinery.
- Record production data and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Keep work area organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or grinding/machining environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable, safety-minded, and able to work well both independently and in a team environment.
