Overview
Client is seeking three Senior Network Engineers to support enterprise network infrastructure across three U.S. regions: Northeast, South/Central, and West. This role is ideal for a senior-level Cisco network professional who can design, implement, and support secure, highly available, and scalable network environments across distributed locations. The engineer will serve as a technical expert for complex issues, lead network projects, and partner with cross-functional teams to maintain reliable network operations.
Core Responsibilities
• Design, document, and implement enterprise network solutions using Cisco routing, switching, wireless, security, SD-WAN, and data center technologies.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points, and related network services.
• Manage and optimize routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP, along with Layer 2 technologies such as VLANs, STP, trunking, and EtherChannel.
• Implement and support VPN solutions and SD-WAN environments including Cisco SD-WAN, Viptela, and Meraki.
• Monitor network health, performance, and capacity to ensure high availability and strong end-user experience.
• Troubleshoot complex network incidents, lead root cause analysis, and develop preventive solutions.
• Support network security initiatives including firewalls, ACLs, segmentation, IDS/IPS, and NAC.
• Maintain network diagrams, asset inventories, configuration repositories, runbooks, and SOPs.
• Lead network-related projects from planning through implementation and operational handoff.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with server, cloud, security, and application teams.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• 7 years of progressive experience in network engineering or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco-based enterprise network design, implementation, and support.
• Deep expertise with Cisco routers and switches, including Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
• Strong knowledge of switching technologies including VLANs, STP/RSTP/MST, trunking, port security, and EtherChannel.
• Experience with QoS, high availability design, HSRP/VRRP, and redundant network topologies.
• Experience with Cisco firewalls and security platforms such as ASA, Firepower, FTD, or Cisco Secure Firewall.
• Experience with Cisco wireless technologies including WLC, access points, enterprise WLAN design, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Cisco SD-WAN and/or Meraki environments.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools such as Cisco DNA Center, Prime, SolarWinds, or LogicMonitor.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, and core network services.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead projects, manage priorities, and work effectively across technical teams.
Preferred Skills or Experience
• Cisco CCNP Enterprise or Security.
• Cisco CCIE in Enterprise, Security, or Data Center.
• Experience in highly distributed, multi-site enterprise environments.
• Exposure to compliance and security frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or ISO 27001.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and serving as a Tier 3 escalation point.
Work Details
• Work arrangement: Remote
• Openings: 3 total, with one engineer aligned to each region: Northeast US, South/Central US, and Western US
• Travel: Required throughout the assigned region to support Client locations
• Travel logistics: Airfare and hotel will be arranged; incidental expenses are reimbursable
• Additional support expectations: Participation in on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance or incident support as needed
