Overview
A leading organization in the aerospace manufacturing industry is on the lookout for a skilled professional to join their team. This role is vital in ensuring that all products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be self-motivated, and possess experience in aerospace inspection with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Conduct Receiving, First Article (AS9102), and Final Inspections.
- Set up and operate precision measuring equipment, including surface plates, sine plates, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, indicators, thread gages, dial bore gages, Muller gages, and bridge gages.
- Perform part layout using surface plates and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).
- Apply trigonometry and sine plate calculations when required.
- Generate detailed inspection reports and documentation.
- Record and track nonconforming materials in database systems.
- Ensure all certifications and documentation meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Support production flow by ensuring timely and accurate inspections.
- Train and assist team members as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications.
- High attention to detail with the ability to provide accurate inspection data.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workflow efficiently.
- Ability to maintain production flow in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to pass a near vision and color vision exam.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of aerospace inspection experience.
- Experience with Receiving Inspection, First Article Inspection (AS9102), and Final Inspection.
- Experience with Net-Inspect preferred.
- Experience operating a CMM required; programming experience is a plus.
