Job Title: Toolmaker (Lv. 2)

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking an experienced Toolmaker II to join a precision manufacturing team in Victor, NY. This role is responsible for building, repairing, and assembling complex tooling such as jigs, fixtures, gauges, and cutting tools. The ideal candidate will have strong machining experience, the ability to work independently, and the technical expertise to handle intricate toolmaking projects with minimal supervision.
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $36.00/Hour (Based On Exp.)
Shift:
- Day Shift | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:

Study blueprints and determine machining and assembly requirements

Plan layout and assembly of complex tooling components

Measure, mark, and prepare metal stock for machining

Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses

Operate surface grinder to finish parts to specification

Assemble and fit parts to precise tolerances

Verify dimensions, alignments, and installation of components

Test assembled tools and mechanisms for functionality

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
10 years of toolmaking or machining experience

Completion of NYS Apprenticeship Program preferred

Experience with Prototrak required

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T

Solid math skills including algebra

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
