Job Title: Process Set-Up Technician
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a hands-on Process Set-Up Technician to support injection molding production operations at a leading manufacturing facility in Rochester, NY. This is a 3-month assignment focused on assisting with machine changeovers and preparing equipment for production runs. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude and experience working with molds, presses, or industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.

This role will primarily support the physical set-up of tools and machinery, allowing senior technicians to focus on programming and process optimization. Shift: A Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday – Friday)

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00/Hour

Assignment Length: Approximately 3 months


Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with machine setup and changeovers according to production schedules.
  • Install and remove molds in injection molding presses.
  • Connect water, hydraulic, and air lines to support mold operation.
  • Install and remove auxiliary equipment such as chutes, conveyors, and related components.
  • Ensure raw materials are staged and available at workstations prior to production start.
  • Support technicians with press start-up activities to ensure equipment is production-ready.
  • Verify machine setup aligns with process parameter sheets and production requirements.
  • Assist with completion of mold travelers and production documentation.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Tool Room teams to support production readiness.
  • Perform basic equipment checks and ensure machine safety features are properly engaged.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality system requirements.
  • Provide general support to operators and technicians as needed during production runs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing, machine setup, or mechanical experience preferred.
  • Experience working with injection molding equipment or similar industrial machinery preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools, molds, and production equipment.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching: > 75% of the time
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs.: frequently
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.: occasionally
  • Manual dexterity and use of hand tools required
  • Visual ability including close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment
  • Frequent exposure to airborne particles, fumes, and industrial materials
  • Occasional exposure to vibration and electrical equipment
  • Moderate noise levels
  • Use of required PPE
  • Fast-paced production environment supporting injection molding operations
