Location: Greenville, SC
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm
Pay Rate: 33 / hour
Work Schedule: Hybrid (Monday–Wednesday in office; Thursday–Friday remote)
Training: First 2–3 weeks fully onsite


Position Overview

The Payroll Operations & Employee Service Specialist is responsible for the daily coordination and execution of payroll activities in partnership with a Managed Services Provider. This role ensures accurate processing, reporting, and maintenance of payroll data in compliance with legal, tax, and audit requirements.

Additionally, the position supports employees, managers, and business stakeholders by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing payroll-related guidance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with payroll team members and cross-functional partners to achieve operational goals
  • Accurately enter job, salary, and personal data not interfaced from the HRIS into the payroll system
  • Coordinate with Managed Services Provider to meet payroll deadlines and ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Analyze and resolve discrepancies between HRIS and payroll systems
  • Review, correct, and approve payroll data inputs
  • Analyze pre- and post-payroll audit reports to identify and correct errors
  • Support garnishment processes in partnership with managed services
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and internal control standards
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for timekeeping and payroll systems
  • Provide employee support related to:
    • Personnel records
    • Time entry
    • Earnings, deductions, and taxes
  • Support HR Operations, Benefits, Compensation, and Finance teams
  • Manage and resolve tickets using ServiceNow and ADP CRM tools
  • Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality, data privacy, security, and SOX requirements
  • Process off-cycle payrolls in compliance with state regulations (e.g., final pay)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3–5 years of multi-state payroll experience (supporting 5,000 employees)
  • Experience with payroll systems such as:
    • ADP GlobalView
    • Ceridian Dayforce
    • SAP (preferred)
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll data
