Nesco Resource, a national staffing firm, has partnered with a leading energy client in order to identify a Senior Structural/Civil Engineer position. There will be 1 opening available for this role.

Responding to structural issues in the field

Commercial buildings, high rise buildings

  • Steel, concrete, roofing, equipment
  • Support engineers for renovation work
    • HVAC systems, capacity of roof to assess the equipment needed to fix
    • May lead job for service centers
    • Lead or support on any type of structural issue
    • Crack on a wall - would assess in person
    • HM assigns work to engineers and support team
    • 100m capital

Serving basically the same role as the internal hire but on a contract position.

Role is open due to another candidate leaving

Must be likeable, open communicator, easy to work with

Open in the pay rate based on experience – please send Ethan anyone interested that is over rate.

Worked for Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) firm, wants someone who does the engineering, running through the records, Detailed calculations

Work out of 4IP, 3 days in office, Tuesday-Thursday in office

When they travel from site to site, they prefer they commute to 4IP, then travel from there.

Will travel with senior engineer when ubering/travel is required.

Expect local travel to site often.. Might be once a week, multiple times per week, or not for a month.

Civil/Structural degree - Masters preferred, but comfortable with bachelor's if they have the experience

Civil - drainage based

Structural - Steel, superstructure, makes the building

The preference is to have both experiences

Responsibilities/Job Description:

  • Candidates will be required to engineer and design projects to primarily support the Capital and Operations & Maintenance budgets of Facilities which includes the buildings and yards of various Service Centers and Commercial Buildings. Candidates will prepare and/or direct the preparation of design packages (specifications/drawings) and the review contractor shop drawings; perform cost benefit analysis/conduct conceptual studies to determine best designs; prepare or direct the preparation of budgets and appropriation requests for specific projects. The candidate will be involved with facility project design, operational & maintenance support, root cause investigation of incidents, system inspections

What are the MUST HAVE Skills:

  • The candidates must have a proven record of civil/structural engineering accomplishments, with a strong technical knowledge in the design of all types of steel, concrete and masonry structures
  • Knowledge of all applicable codes such as AISC, ACI, ASCE, NYC Building Code, etc
  • The candidate must be capable of working directly with both in-house designers and out-of-house consulting engineers and have a proven record in providing civil/structural engineering support for various types of commercial building/yard systems.

Education or Certification Requirement:

  • Bachelors Degree
