Senior Trust Associate (Onsite)
Position Summary
The Senior Trust Associate (TA) supports a Senior Institutional Advisor (SIA) / Relationship Manager (RM), as well as other team members within the Institutional Advisors group. This role is responsible for administering a portfolio of institutional client relationships, with a strong emphasis on client service and daily administrative functions.
The TA develops in-depth knowledge of institutional products and services, ensures timely resolution of client inquiries, and supports client retention and relationship growth. Acting as a primary point of contact for clients and third parties, this role also ensures compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service & Relationship Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for institutional clients and their service providers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, administrators, auditors, and advisors
- Support client retention and identify opportunities to enhance existing relationships and processes
- Participate in client relationship reviews and ongoing service evaluations
- Maintain high-quality service standards to ensure a positive client experience
Account Administration & Operations
- Partner with SIA/RM to manage assigned accounts and ensure timely, accurate transaction processing
- Execute client-directed trades and financial transactions
- Process daily cash activities, including:
- Wire transfers
- Check preparation
- Cash transfers and deposits
- Securities trading
- Monitor daily cash reports for overdrafts and uninvested balances, ensuring proper investment allocation
- Assist with account onboarding, asset collection, and system maintenance
- Support mail handling, check deposits, and administrative tasks for the team
Compliance & Risk Management
- Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Interpret and apply institutional trust and custody agreements for administrative and fiduciary purposes
- Mitigate risk through adherence to legal, regulatory, and operational standards
- Assist clients with required reporting to government agencies (e.g., DOL, PBGC, IRS)
Team Support
- Provide backup support to other Trust Associates as needed
- Collaborate effectively across teams to ensure seamless client service
- Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and a client-focused approach
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of industry experience supporting institutional clients (corporate, non-profit, public fund, Taft-Hartley, or similar) in an administrative or client service capacity
- Strong client service and relationship management skills
- Knowledge of securities processing and bank operations
- Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and PDF tools (e.g., Kofax)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trust/custody, pension plans, securities lending, commercial banking, operating funds, or charitable plans
- Background in client consulting or advocacy
- Public speaking or presentation experience
