Summary: Nesco Resource is hiring a detail-oriented Film Slitting Operator to join a global leader in diagnostic manufacturing in Rochester, NY. In this role, you will support the production of high-quality clinical chemistry materials by operating precision slitting equipment in a regulated manufacturing environment. Shift(s):

  • Rotating Shift Schedule (Monday – Friday)
    • A Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
    • B Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
      • Includes two breaks: 45-minute lunch break & 30-minute additional break
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00/hour (based on experience)
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Operate slitting equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and production specifications.
  • Review work instructions, process sheets, and temporary orders prior to production runs.
  • Monitor production parameters to ensure consistent product quality and performance.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation in both electronic and hard copy formats using SAP and internal tracking systems.
  • Perform material handling, packaging, labeling, and storage of finished goods according to specifications.
  • Retrieve materials from inventory or dock areas as needed to support production schedules.
  • Collect product samples and prepare materials for quality testing, packaging, or shipment.
  • Assist engineering and maintenance teams with troubleshooting equipment or process issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas in compliance with GMP standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols when handling chemicals, materials, and specialized equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of overall work experience required.
  • At least 3 months of manufacturing or operations experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipment or process issues.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow detailed technical instructions in English.
  • Experience in regulated environments such as GMP, ISO, or FDA preferred.
  • Technical or vocational education preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts and occasional overtime.

Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, sitting, walking: > 75% of the time
  • Bending, stooping, repetitive motion: > 50%
  • Manual dexterity and hand coordination: > 75%
  • Lifting up to 35 lbs.: occasionally
  • Ability to work in cold environments (0°C freezer conditions) as needed

Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse environment
  • Exposure to chemicals, biological materials, and regulated substances: < 25%
  • Working near mechanical equipment: > 75%
  • Temperature-controlled production areas
  • Use of required PPE
  • GMP-regulated environment with detailed documentation standards
