Overview
Client is seeking a Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of GNC software for mission-critical systems. This role will focus on building, debugging, and maintaining software tied to guidance, navigation, and control algorithms, while supporting simulation, flight software integration, and large-scale test execution. The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering fundamentals, experience working with mathematically intensive applications, and the ability to operate within structured engineering and configuration-managed environments.
Core Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute guidance, navigation, and control software development activities
Design, develop, document, test, and debug software supporting GNC algorithms and mission applications
Support software merges into simulation and flight software environments using software configuration management tools
Coordinate pipeline execution, testing activities, and Monte Carlo simulation runs on computer clusters
Analyze software behavior, resolve defects, and correct program errors
Prepare operating instructions and technical documentation related to software development and testing
Evaluate system capabilities and troubleshoot issues related to program logic, input data, output requirements, and programming methods
Follow established engineering standards, software processes, procedures, and lifecycle practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting mission systems, simulation, and flight software delivery
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
Experience developing software for guidance, navigation, and control applications
Strong programming skills in software used for mathematically intensive engineering solutions
Experience with software design, debugging, testing, and documentation
Knowledge of software configuration management tools and controlled development environments
Experience supporting simulation pipelines, test runs, and Monte Carlo analysis workflows
Understanding of full software development lifecycle standards, processes, and procedures
Ability to analyze system behavior, identify defects, and resolve software issues in complex environments
Active or obtainable security clearance required
Preferred Skills or Experience
Experience integrating software into simulation and flight software environments
Experience supporting mission-critical or aerospace systems
Background working with computer clusters or high-volume simulation environments
Experience in highly structured engineering environments with strong software quality standards

Pay Rate: Up to $85/hr
